Lived Experience Practitioner
What Is a Lived Experience Practitioner?
Most coaching is built on learning.
My work is built on living it.
As a lived experience practitioner, I support people rebuilding their lives after health challenges, burnout or major life disruption, not from theory, but from direct experience.
I don’t work from the outside looking in.
I work from inside the reality of long-term challenge, identity change and adaptation, because I live it every day
Why Lived Experience Matters?
When someone has lived through chronic illness, burnout, or life disruption, traditional advice often misses the point.
Generic support assumes:
→ Energy will return if you push hard enough
→ You can simply “get back to normal”
→ The old version of you is still the goal
But when life has fundamentally changed, those assumptions stop working.
Lived experience work starts somewhere different.
It starts with the truth of where you are now.
Chris’s Lived Experience
I live with Multiple Sclerosis a chronic, incurable health condition.
That reality reshaped how I see identity, resilience, belief, and recovery.
I know what it feels like when:
• Your body doesn’t cooperate
• Your plans change without warning
• Your identity no longer fits
• Advice from others misses the point
This experience isn’t something I occasionally reference in my work.
It is the foundation of it.
Who This Work Is For
This support will be right for you if:
• Life hasn’t returned to “normal” and you know it never will
• You’re functioning on the surface but struggling underneath
• Your confidence or identity has taken a hit
• You’re tired of surface-level advice or motivational slogans
• You want honest conversations about rebuilding your life
What We Work On
- This work goes deeper than typical mindset coaching. We focus on:
Identity shifts after illness, burnout, or disruption
Core beliefs that keep you feeling stuck
Rebuilding direction after life changes
Resolving internal conflict between who you were and who you are now
Creating meaning that fits your current reality
Explore your inner self, the new you!
How We Work Together
Sessions are offered on a one-to-one basis and are designed to be structured, honest, and grounded in real-life experience.
Rather than following generic coaching frameworks, our conversations focus on your personal circumstances, challenges, and the changes you’re navigating.
The work is thoughtful and supportive, but also gently challenging where needed, helping you explore beliefs, identity shifts, and the direction you want to move in next.
Sessions can take place online or in person in Essex, depending on what feels most comfortable and practical for you.
Everything is approached at a pace that respects where you are right now, creating space for honest conversation and meaningful progress without pressure.
Take your first step, book your slot…
The next step is simply a conversation.
No pressure.
No expectation.
Just honesty about where you are and whether this work is right for you.
